Artefacts

These figures owe their origin in part to the dummy boards of the seventeenth century, and the tomographs devised by the artist Patrick Woodroffe, with just a little suggestion of the photographic experiments of cousins Elsie Wright and Frances Griffiths.

Each figure is individually cut from wood, prepared, and painted in oils; each is an oil painting in its own right.

Inspired by the sort of things that could have been but never were.
